Russian antitrust to open case against HP, Lenovo

MOSCOW, Feb 21 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service will open a case against Hewlett Packard and Lenovo on signs of illegal economic coordination, Director Igor Artemyev told reporters on Tuesday.

“Checks are well under way. Do not doubt, there will be a case. There will certainly be a case. Signs of violations are evident,” Artemyev said.

Earlier in February, Andrei Tenishev, director of the service’s anti-cartel department, said that the watchdog had completed checks of HP and Lenovo and uncovered signs of law infringements.

The service said in November 2016 that it had started scrutiny of the companies as they were suspected of forming a big cartel during an electronics tender for state needs.
